The Most Destructive Fire in Colorado History Just Happened on December 30th, 2021. For the families affected, recovery has barely begun.

On December 30th, 2021, 1,084 homes and seven commercial structures were destroyed in the Marshall fire in Colorado. The total estimated value of residential damage determined by the Boulder County Assessor is $513,212,589. Most families were underinsured due to the crazy housing market in Colorado and the fact that home values jumped so much even in the past year. The result is that many families do not have enough money to rebuy most of what they owned prior, let alone try to buy items and rebuild their homes.
