On Thursday, August 29, Sadie’s mother passed after two days at Augusta. She suffered respiratory failure on the 27th and despite heroic efforts by the squad and the hospital, she was unable to survive. Not only was she Sadie’s mother, she was her best friend and the child care for the children in the family. Their whole world has been turned upside down and I am hoping this page helps give them some much needed support and stability at this impossibly difficult time. The remaining household members are Austin (28); Sadie (24); their three children, Axl (7) Ayla (3) Atreyu (1); and Sadie’s younger siblings, Abby (19) and Gabe (16). Both Austin and Sadie are working and are trying to maintain stability for the children, all of whom adored their DeeDee. I have set up a calendar for meals and included gift card options. We are doing a Costco and grocery run this weekend to stock up on snacks and sandwich meats. If you are able to bring diapers or non-perishable snacks for the littles along with a meal, that would be a lovely help.
