We Love The Hurndon's.❤

Commerce, GA

Story

Directly from Amy on April 9, 2020 in regards to Adam- Some of you may know, in January Adam Hurndon was being his typical self and wrestling around with the kids playing and horsing around with them. He loves all the kids so very much, but loves to mess with them just as much. So in the process somehow he broke his toe. We had some initial swelling not a big deal, saw the Dr, and was told not much to do for a broken toe. Obviously we knew this so we went on with our normal life. Swelling remained, and got worse by the end of January. Had an MRI that showed the broken bone, but still no other abnormalities. Also we were working with a new endo Dr, worked with a new medicine, and the diabetes were under control. Things were going good, other than the severe swelling, we thought. Between February and late March he developed Charcot foot, which is the same thing that happened in the right foot. Despite our best efforts, the charcot took over so quickly this time and the displacements of the bones and fractures this caused, that the swelling never went away. He developed the fracture blisters just like he did with the right foot. It is like an exact repeat of everything we went through with the right foot. Only this developed so quickly no one was prepared for it. Now he sits in the hospital, and as you all know we are also under this Covid outbreak and there are no visitors allowed. So as he sits in the hospital alone, and I cry for him at home, he will undergo a second BKA, below the knee amputation. I am asking just for prayers for strength. He did so amazingly well with the last one, I am praying he does the same with this one. He will now be a double amputee, and if I know my husband at all that will not stop him. I have no doubt he will come out of this on top and do just as great as he did last time. My words for him now are probably not very comforting. The having to go through this alone is wearing on him. However, he is not alone I am definitely there in spirit, and will he sitting in the parking deck while this is happening just because. And mostly God is with him holding his hand while I cannot. I know this was long and if you read it all thank you for keeping us in your prayers. Surgery took place yesterday, he underwent his second BKA. (Below the Knee Amputation) *To help reduce some stress off this precious family, let's supply them with meals, or anything else they may need in the days/weeks to come.*
