Story
The first picture was taken 10 minutes before the accident. The second picture is Crissy today (03/19). A stark reminder that in any moment, something dramatic can change your life in the blink of an eye. Crissy had an unfortunate collision. Fortunately, no life threatening injuries. Although released from the hospital she is relatively incapacitated. She broke her left knee cap in half - and that has been repaired with surgery and screws. She also has a clean break through the distal radial bone in her left wrist. The surgery will have to be done after being discharged. She fractured her nose as well - no surgical correction is needed. She has about 30 stitches in her face, starting at the bridge of the nose down the side of the nose, which almost severed the left nostril , down into the lips, both upper and lower. She also has a right sprained wrist but they didn’t wrap it up because it’s the only hand she has to function. However, through this all she has remained strong and kind and humorous, while enduring significant pain and discomfort. She’s a badass. Thank you so much to everyone who has reached out. Your words and kindness lift her spirits, and are truly appreciated.
Special Notes
With three teens and a dog at home - food and supplies (and in some cases logistics) are going to be a challenge. Additionally, with pain medication and a less than pleasant appearance, it’s difficult to conduct work responsibilities. As a self-employed person, she has no medical leave or vacation time to draw from, so income will be limited and there will be many unanticipated medical bills. The kids don’t care for spicy foods, and finding one thing that all 3 can agree upon is nearly impossible. Chick-Fil-A and Chipotle are safe and easy options. Lasagna, Mac-and-Cheese, Chicken Paprikas, taco fixings (so they can create their own version), and Fried Chicken are also good options. Again - thank you in advance for any and all contributions. UPDATE - I’ve been told that VENMO requires the last 4-Digits of her phone number: 5554
