Story
As many of you know Beth will be undergoing a rigorous chemotherapy and radiation treatment for the next 6 weeks. James will be running her back and forth to appointments and some days are going to be really long hours at the treatment center. This is going to take a toll on her, James and the kids. She doesn’t like to ask for help but I knew that she would need it! If you are willing to take a day or two and supply them with dinner that would be much appreciated. If you want to donate gift cards or money then I’ll be more than happy to make sure they get dinner or whatever they need. Please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers. If you aren’t sure what’s going on here is her post from Facebook: 🩵 Family & Friends 🩵 This is not the post we wanted to EVER had to write. This is not the reality we EVER wanted to live in. But unfortunately life is difficult and unfair at times! I don't normally post on Facebook about deeply private things. But, we wanted to be sure that everyone has correct information about what we have been going through over the last few months. We hate rumors, so here's what's been going on. I have been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix stage IIB. The mass is bigger than typically operated on and be successful with clear margins. If the mass was operated on we take the risk of causing damage to my healthy organs and/or the risk of spreading the cancer. Damaging my healthy organs could cause life changing problems for me such as a colostomy bag for the rest of my life, catheter for rest of my life and few other not so pleasant life changing problems. 😬 We certainly do not want the cancer spreading either! This morning I had a pet scan at the radiation center. After meeting with our radiation oncologist, we were informed the pet scan showed NO CANCER IN ANY OF MY LYMPH NODES! Which was a major concern of ours, because the MRI showed one pelvic lymph node being "suspicious." The cancer also has not spread to any other organs! NO SURPRISES TODAY! ☆SIGH OF RELIEF☆ We were assured for a second time by a second oncologist this is CURABLE and surgery would NOT BE A CURE ! Treatment is THE CURE! September 9th, I begin 6 weeks of treatment. Treatment will consist of a low dose of chemotherapy 1x a week, external radiation 4x a week and sedated internal radiation 1x a week with a CT scan each week. Thank you especially to my AMAZING husband! James has helped me manage the unbearable pain (at times) I am in from the mass pressing on nerves and muscles. He has been by my side every day and been with me at every appointment. He has done hours of research, taken notes and asked questions at every appointment. He's been Mr. Mom on top of running our business. I wouldn't have made it this far without him. No one else I would rather have by my side going through this difficult time. 🩵 ALWAYS US AGAINST THE WORLD. Thank you to our village these past few weeks while we navigated through doctor's appointments, biopsies, scans and testing. We deeply appreciate all of the prayers, thoughts, good vibes, calls and texts that we have received and the support that has been provided to our little family.
