Story
Violet Colon is a brave and beautiful 8-year-old girl who has been courageously battling TBCK since she was diagnosed at the age of 2. When Violet was younger, she was full of energy and always on the move. However, due to increased seizure activity, she lost many of those precious skills. But our Violet is a fighter. She continues to regain her strength, and every day, she works hard to sit, stand, and even do sit-ups. She is nothing short of an amazing TBCK warrior, and her determination fills us with hope and inspiration. Like many TBCK families, our days are filled with numerous doctor and therapy appointments. Although Violet is often busy with these therapies, she loves going for walks, but we face significant challenges as she grows. At 4’5” and 80 lbs, Violet is getting bigger, and while we are so proud of her growth, it has become increasingly difficult to get her in and out of our current SUV, which is not handicapped accessible. When Violet was smaller, it was manageable, but now, ensuring her safety during transfers has become a real struggle. That’s why we’ve created this page – to rally friends, family, and kind-hearted individuals to help us reach our goal for Violet’s much-needed handicap accessible vehicle. This vehicle would not only protect our backs and save us time on our frequent trips to appointments, but most importantly, it would empower Violet to continue living life without boundaries. Imagine her joy with the freedom to visit friends and family, and easily attend her therapies and doctor visits without limitations. Although Violet cannot speak, I know that she is driven to move and explore the world around her. This journey will be life-changing for us and for Violet. Together, we stand resilient and determined to give her every opportunity she deserves. Please, support Violet on her Journey on Wheels. Your generosity will make an immense difference in her life and keep her good spirits. Thank you for your kindness and support! Much love, The Colon Family
