Hi! We're glad you're here! Our amazing Mom - Kären Wignall - can use your help while she treats and recovers from Breast Cancer. In the end of May her doctors found that her localized cancer from 5 years ago had returned. And in the end of July - she had mastectomy surgery. Fortunately the surgery removed all of the cancer tumors and had clear margins and lmyph nodes. However the tumors were larger than the doctors would like. Because of this she will start a round of Chemo that will last approximately 3 months. She will be getting her port installed and will start Chemo within the next couple weeks. We are all hopeful that this treatment will reduce the chances of the cancer returning. At the moment - she is in good spirits considering! She has a great team of doctors- and is having to balance the feeling of wanting to "get back to normal" with intentional healing. Many of you have offered to help - and so we made this page to make it a little easier to facilitate that! Mom is so grateful for all of the kind things people have done to help her during this tough time. It's not just the act but the thought that is so welcome at this time of finding the best parts of every day! Myself and my sister Julia are based on the West coast and far from home - and so we also want you to know how grateful we are. We wish more than anything we could pop by with dinner for Mom or to pick her weeds or walk her dog. Thank you! It's been so beautiful to witness the beautiful community she's built!
