Story
It was my first mammogram in March 2024 that caught the stage 0 DCIS in my left breast. After genetic testing, I discovered that I am also positive for a PALB2 mutation, which increases the risk of breast cancer by 60%! To reduce my risk of developing cancer on my other breast, I opted for a double mastectomy with reconstructive surgery.
Special Notes
My surgery is on July 30th at Beth Israel in Boston. For support, I’d love if you could wear an article of pink clothing or paint your nails pink and send me a picture for a collage that I plan to create!
