Story
Kris Ficks went in for surgery this past Friday to remove a growth in his brain. Unfortunately, he had a seizure and coded before the tumor could be removed. He was revived and remained in stable but critical condition the remainder of Friday and Saturday. Kris is awake, off of the vent and breathing on his own, but his wife informed us today, he has also suffered a pretty major stroke. We are asking, at this time, for your support in meal cards as well as continued thoughts and prayers. Kris is strong, stubborn and a fighter, we have no choice but to focus on the positive and continue to believe he will pull thru this. Update from Andrea as of 4/29: The neurosurgeon and anesthesia team are still unsure exactly what happened and why he coded during surgery. They will be presenting his case to the review board and continue to search for answers. For now, the plan is for Kristopher to remain medically stable and when ready, enter into inpatient rehab to allow him time to regain movement strength and independence on his right side over the next few months. Once he has regained his strength and the surgery team has more answers they will reattempt the tumor removal and reattach the bone flap. Needless to say he's going to need all the prayers and positive vibes he can get.
