On Wednesday July 8th, Donald was in severe pain & bleeding. We decided to go to urgent care & have him checked out. They did a cat scan & found a mass in his intestines. From there he was admitted into the hospital where they did an endoscopy & colonoscopy. The mass is a tumor in his colon. He also has a part in his colon that is not getting adequate blood supply. They did a biopsy of both areas. For the tumor. Think of it as an orange. They only biopsied the skin, not the core. The skin is non cancerous. The dr thinks the inside could be cancer. We have a dr appointment Wednesday at 11:15 to discuss it more & plan his surgery. Either way, he will have surgery. They will remove about 1/3 of his large intestine. He has never had surgery before & only been hospitalised 2 times including this last stay. He’s never been alone. Due to the covid mess, he may have to face everything in the hospital alone. He will need all the support we can give & encouragement. Hopefully, he will not feel as alone in this. We can’t thank yall enough for being a part of our lives & this journey.
