Story
A Message from Julie (7/23/24)... Dear loved ones, While we’ve always felt blessed to have such a wonderful community of friends & family, during the past few weeks we’ve been overwhelmed with gratitude & love for all of you! You’ve brought us peace & comfort during a difficult time & kept us well fed throughout. We appreciate all of your deliveries so much! Thank you I wanted to post an update on Tim’s progress. What a difference 2.5 weeks makes! As Suzanne J so aptly pointed out, it’s amazing what healing the body can do when you have that magical combination of the right team of doctors, the right attitude, and most importantly, an abundance of love and support from your friends & family. Thank you ❤️ Tim was transferred to Gaylord Rehab Hospital almost a week ago after 12 days at Westchester Medical Center. WMC’s trauma & orthopedic teams were incredible. Tim had surgeries to repair a dislocated & fractured right elbow as well as a displaced fracture of his left femur at the hip. He also sustained fractures to his cervical spine & zygomatic bone in his face. Both of those fractures are stable and won’t require surgery to heal. Tim had a chest tube in throughout his stay at WMC due to a collapsed lung which is now healed. While it’s a lot to go through, we’re both just so grateful that all of his injuries will heal with time. I’m also thankful he invested in a top of the line helmet & replaced it often! It was put to the test that day & while it is cracked & battered, his skull is not. With almost a week under his belt at Gaylord, Tim is looking & feeling like a new man. The facility and rehab team is outstanding! He’s making progress everyday. He’s made lots of friends and I can see that his positive attitude lends sunshine to other patients in difficult situations. Looks like he will be at Gaylord for at least another week. It’s a great opportunity as he receives 3 hrs of therapy a day. Thank you so much for the delicious meals and grocery deliveries. Your generosity & love has truly made such an impact on our family. We feel the love and we love you right back! With deepest gratitude, Julie, Tim, James, Anna, Julia & Charlie

Food left on table or counters in kitchen is not safe from Maizey. For hot food there is an insulated “pressed” box on dining room table that works well. Thank you so much!
