Because LIFE

Springfield, MO

Story

Despite the struggles of having to live with a spinal cord injury at the highest level these past 18 years, I've managed to keep going and not give up. This has been a great deal in thanks to the help of my many supporters along the way as the need for help is ongoing. However, one big thing I am still missing after all these years is a van I can convert for my wheelchair, which would open up so many new doors and allow me some of the freedoms that I had taken away from me at the time of the accident and remedy a lot of those needs. I have started fundraisers before, but have yet to successfully reach my goal, raising only enough to save for the next go around or next emergency. All proceeds will combine with what I have and go toward achieving this dream first and anything more would go to living and medical expenses, which are also great in number. However, it is about so much more than that! It's about quality of life and the lack of resources in my area, in this world for somebody with my needs. Whether you just keep me in prayer or decide to donate your time, money or personal service, with a humble heart full of appreciation to all who help me get there, I [we] thank you in advance. My health and circumstances always have me needing something and any help is hard to come by as sad is that is for me to say. I require round the clock nursing care but have not yet been able to secure that, which leaves every act of kindness, small or big, VERY significant as my husband cannot leave me alone and go to work like he wishes he could, yet he never gets much of a break in the meantime either. He works his butt off for me when his health is not so great itself. So, please don't judge; just pray and help where and when you can. It's not all about the money.
