UPDATE: Rowan was airlifted from Riverside Hospital to transfer care to MCV Children’s Hospital this evening! 💙 I wanted to send the Virtual Meal Train out again now that there has been a change of hospitals and added distance of travel for the Knights. So much time is spent traveling between home and the hospital or at the hospital itself for the family and the gift cards are a great way to provide a meal on the go for them. Options in the hospital that they can eat (it’s a large hospital and hard to leave and come back) are Panera and Subway. Family favorites they go to with Wyatt to keep normalcy at home are Chipolte, Taco Bell, Tropical Smoothie, Plaza, Starbucks, Subway, Jimmy Johns, Plaza, Mod pizza, Blaze Pizza, and Mellow Mushroom. DIRECTIONS: Once you sign up it will take to you a page where you can directly purchase grubhub, DoorDash, etc giftcards... or it will provide you with Megan’s email so you can go to a restaurant of choice on a new tab and virtually send it that way. Megan, Steadman and Wyatt welcomed their newest member of their family the morning of June 28 unexpectedly 6 weeks early. Due to Rowan’s early arrival he will spend some time in the NICU. With the hospital being a good distance from their home, the Knight’s will spend a lot of time traveling back and forth to the hospital to see Rowan and keep up a normal routine for their toddler at home. With the current national pandemic going on, we thought creating a “gift card meal train” would be a safe and helpful way to provide meals to the family while they travel back and forth visiting their newborn, while keeping everyone safe from Covid-19 at this time.
