Boundless Blessings for Big-Hearted, Brave Barbara!

Pflugerville, TX

Story

Many of you already know, Barbara, along with her family and friends, were surprised by a tumor that decided to take up residence in her brain. She found out late afternoon on October 31st after having a terrible headache and loss of vision in her right eye, and she was immediately hospitalized. She had surgery to remove the aggressive tumor on Tuesday, November 5th, but was able to come home on . The name of the type tumor is a Glioblastoma and it is incurable. OT/PT comes to her house 2-3 times a week. Barbara began her radiation therapy the week of Thanksgiving and this continues for 6 weeks, chemotherapy starts XXX Vision Update: She still cannot see with her right eye, please know that it is difficult for her to read and see. This includes texts. But don't let this stop you from calling and sharing your day with her. You know how she hates to miss out on what all is happening! She loves a good story! We started this page to let Barbara and her family know how much they are loved and how much we want to support them. Right now we would like to make sure they have a few easy to eat, prep, eat meals a few days a week. If you would still like to help but if you are not chef, if you are busy, if cooking gives you anxiety or stress, if you don't like to cook, if you can't even boil water, never fear... HEB, local restaurants, pizza and delivery are other swell choices! We are not sure how Barbara will react to the treatments. Some suggestions are: prepping the meals so they are smaller, easy to freeze, such as 2-4 smaller meals vs. a large meal; easily prepared or reheated; prefer non returnable containers (no one needs to worry about a special piece of Corningware that gets misplaced). She loves your company. She loves spending time with her friends and family. She loves a bit of juicy gossip. Please know that she is not able to drive and will need a designated driver, not matter what the occasion, lunch, happy hour, a nice drive...
