Team Mel

Ashburn, VA

Story

Shortly after Christmas in December 2023, Mel experienced a sharp pain that abruptly halted everything. A visit to Urgent Care and the ER revealed a 17-centimeter ruptured mass linked to one of her ovaries, necessitating immediate surgery for further investigation. In early February, the surgery was performed to remove the mass and the affected ovary for diagnostic testing, which confirmed a positive result for cancer. It led to a recommendation for a comprehensive treatment strategy beginning in April with another surgery, then chemo. So, on April 8th, there was surgery performed, and our Mel is sidelined for the next 4-6 weeks. She's in great spirits as she heals. She’s doing well and is gearing up for her next round of chemotherapy. The sessions are scheduled for the following Thursdays: May 16th June 7th June 28th July 19th August 9th August 30th Each session will last for 6 hours. We’re looking for any media recommendations to keep her entertained—books, podcasts, movies, new music, TV shows, YouTube content, you name it! If you have any suggestions, please share them with us.
