Story
FROM Wylene's Caring Bridge post: On Sept 3rd, Wylene was to get a Whipple procedure based on all the test results up to that time. It is a major surgery to remove part of the pancreas and other organs to treat pancreatic cancer, trauma or chronic pancreatitis. After the surgery was begun, there was concern for possible metastatic disease. The Whipple was aborted and an exploratory surgery was completed with a diagnosis of metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma. For more updates, please see the Caring Bridge site.
Special Notes
Three notes here ~ 1. Please text/call Wylene prior to your arrival to confirm she knows that you are coming. 2. If you have any cold/flu/illness at the time of your scheduled visit, please cancel through the website or the confirmation emailed you received. We need to protect her a much as possible from illness. 3. Anyone bringing meals, please note that anything high with fat is very bothersome to Wylene's pancreas. She would prefer protein based meals with veggies. No desserts as that also affects her pancreas. When bringing food, please use disposal trays and/or clearly mark with your name to simplify the return.
