Meals for Anne deMontluzin

Metairie, LA

Story

As many of you know, my mom had a heart attack in May and was in the hospital for 12 days. She subsequently went back to the ER two more times with complications. After finally being released, she was home for about three weeks before suffering a hemorrhagic stroke on her left side, which has affected her walking, her vision, and most notably her reading and speech.  She is home now, but requires 24/7 care which my brothers, aunt, and I are providing ourselves until we can assess how my mom does at home and assess what sorts of things she needs help with at home before we decide next steps in terms of caretakers. She will have physical, occupational, and speech therapy at home for a few weeks before transitioning to outpatient rehab.  As many of you know, I normally reside overseas, but am teleworking in New Orleans right now, so I’m glad I can be here to help my mom.  Unfortunately, I don’t have my mom’s culinary talents and she might get bored of my usual dinner of a bowl of cereal;) If any of her friends can help with meals it would be greatly appreciated. She doesn’t eat much these days, but I’d like to provide her one good meal a day. Thank you all for being such good friends to my mom.  Best, Brooke ([email protected]) 202 520 3423

Special Notes

My mom doesn’t have any dietary restrictions. One thing to note is that she doesn’t like any kind of Asian or Indian food.
