Story
Hi community! I am healing from a broken back and need some help. This page contains some info on what's going on and some ways that you can support me while I recover. Thanks for coming by! What's going on: In April, I was in an accident in my home state of New York and sustained a compound fracture to one of my lumbar vertebrae. I made it home to Portland and have been recovering in the care of family, friends, and professionals. I'm on a good and steady path to healing. However, I am currently under some mobility directives that inhibit me from doing some everyday tasks like cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, and getting around on public transit. That's where I'm looking for some help! If you would like to support me on this healing journey, here are some ways that you can do that: * Sign up for tasks in my Care Calendar on this page (see “Care Calendar” below). You can bring me a meal, wash some dishes, do a grocery run, or send a gift card to help with those things from afar. (Note: this website will ask you to make an account to sign up for Care Calendar tasks so they can email you a reminder, it’s free) * Send me a gift card for Uber rides, food delivery, or grocery delivery (see “Wishlist” below). These are especially helpful right now while I can’t take public transit or walk very far and can’t lift or carry groceries. * Send me a message to let me know that you're thinking about me :) Thank you to everyone who is supporting and caring for me in any capacity, even sending healing thoughts. It is really reassuring to feel the embrace of community right now and I appreciate you for being a part of that. <3 KK
Special Notes
* Meals: I don't have any food allergies; I generally eat vegan except for eggs, fish, and honey. Protein, fruits, and vegetables are what my body needs most right now :) * Visits: If you bring a meal or sign up for another in-person task, you're welcome to hang out with me or not. My energy levels currently allow for visits of around 1 hour, unless we communicate otherwise beforehand. * Flowers: Flowers are not an immediate need, but they do the soul good. If flowers are your ministry, please select cat-safe flowers for the safety of my dear cat, Scoop.
