Ok everyone, it's begun. This little Story/FJ fam will be relocating to Franklin, NY in our beautiful historic home, the Turner Tavern this summer. Our ideal move date is mid-June, although we are semi-flexible. We will be living in a multigenerational home to help caretake my grandfather, Ned Jacob, who has severe dementia. While we love Hawai'i and see ourselves moving back here in some capacity in the future, we are seeing this as a new adventure full of gardening/farming, more herbalism, lots of roadtrips, Europe trips, Connecticut trips, and quality time with the Finley-Jacob fam. On top of moving, my family and I have decided to sell our condo. My grandma moved into this condo in the 90s and I have been coming here since I was a little girl. It's meant so much to be to have a space that always felt like home when I moved back to Hawai'i at 18 for college, and I feel so blessed to have been able to keep this as my home until 31 and my transition into motherhood! But it's time to let it go and I have a lot of work to do before we leave–painting, patching, putting in some new hardware. We have renovations in the works, but there's a lot my little hands have signed up for. On top of that, we have to pack everything! We plan on having a garage sale either May 25th or June 1st (depending on how long it takes us to get shit done). Between naps with Riv, feeding him, and watching him as he now crawls and stands up on everything, without having any help, it's almost impossible to get things done on some days. Plus, Dane has to pack up stuff from his house and when he does that, he isn't here to watch River. My mom was here helping, but she had to fly back to NY to help watch grandpa as our guardianship trial (shitshow is a more accurate description than "trial") nears. We're asking for help from you, dear friends and family, to see if you have a couple hours to donate to help us get some things done. We mostly want help watching River so that we can power out some things, but if you prefer to help with handiwork or painting, we would not turn you down!  This calendar should help with scheduling.
