Bobby Cassidy Family Support

Waldron, IN

Story

Robert “Bobby” Cassidy, 52, of Shelbyville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at his home on the river. Bobby always enjoyed spending time around the river. His most precious times were spent there with family and friends. He was born January 25, 1967, in Shelbyville, to Charles N. Cassidy and Nancy (Bishop) Cassidy. On March 14, 2009, he married Esther (Van Mil) Cassidy, and she survives. He is survived by his sons, Jack Cassidy, Von Cassidy, Milo Cassidy, Liam Cassidy, his princess, Eleni Cassidy, and his grandson, Lucas Cassidy. He is also survived by his brothers, Bert Cassidy, Chris Cassidy, Doug Cassidy, Andrew Cassidy and Scott Wilson; his sister, Teri Borg; many nieces, nephews, a great nephew, and his lifelong friend, Nadine Mathews Prather. Bobby was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. He was a gifted musician and performer. He loved coaching sports to all ages. He was a true craftsman and carpenter who loved his house and was slowly turning it into a dream home. He always had an open door and loving heart. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Crossroads Community Church, 475 E. Progress Parkway, Shelbyville, IN 46176. A Memorial Service will follow at 3 p.m. at the church with Pastor Andy Lee officiating. The family is asking that black and/or gold be worn in honor of Bobby as he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Murphy-Parks Funeral Services to help the family with funeral expenses. Please also consider donating to the Bobby Cassidy Family Fund at any First Financial Bank (account # 5313940032) to support Esther and the children in the months ahead. “My personal request is how Bobby would say goodbye to me. He would tell me to 'Stay sweet'. Those two words resonate with me now. Stay sweet when you want to be angry. Love one another. Don’t take anyone for granted. Life comes at you fast. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.” ~Nadine Mathews Prather, Bobby’s lifelong friend
