Tom's life was turned upside down days after welcoming the New Year. His partner of 20 years took steps to end the relationship. It was messy, emotional, and extremely stressful. Tom's health suffered immensely. At age 82, with several health challenges, he is without steam in the engine. His children, Thomas and Leann, as well as their spouses and Leann's lifelong friend Marjo, worked daily, nonstop to secure suitable housing for him, as the housing market in the Netherlands is in somewhat of a crisis state. Finally, On April 23rd Tom was handed the keys to his new apartment! This location is much closer to Thomas and the grandkids living in Leiden. This studio apartment is "barebones" with no floor, lighting, kitchen, etc. Tom has agreed to be out of his previously shared apartment in the north of the Netherlands by May 14th. The challenge is, that his body is not well and his resources are limited. We are calling on friends and family to help him settle and rest at this stage of life. Any contribution would be greatly valued and appreciated. There are so many friends from America to the Netherlands that Tom holds in heart and memory. There are so many projects that he enjoyed working on throughout the years... he is immensely thankful for all of those memories and experiences with you all! During the darkest time of this journey, he was able to draw on those memories; remember all of you! Thank you, for these memories, the kindness... the authentic friendship.
