KENYA THE ROCKSTAR!

Conroe, TX

Story

This page is to support our rockstar, Kenya, as he BEATS lung cancer! His formal diagnosis is Stage IIIa Non-Small Cell Adenocarcinoma. He is currently being treated at MD Anderson, here in Houston, TX. In order to do that, he will have to go through 4 months worth of chemotherapy & radiation treatments, happening consecutively, not concurrently. At this point, we can't anticipate how he will be feeling or how it will impact him throughout the treatment process. Needs at this time are unknown but we will be posting to this page as they are presented, along with updates and victory reports. You're a part of the process and please know that no matter the size of the contribution you are able to make, every bit of support is appreciated so much. Whether it's a meal, babysitting, a gift card or prayers - your help is crucial to help this selfless family focus on their role in Kenya’s healing. ***REMEMBER*** Positive vibes ONLY! Seriously. Believe it or not, it's critical for his healing and continued good health.

Special Notes

Chemo is a delicate time. If you're planning to visit, please do the best you can to make sure that you are not sick or running a fever. Therapy can alter taste buds and mood. Please don't be offended if a meal is changed or put on hold or if Kenya gets a tad snippy. ;) Right now, dietary needs are lots and lots of veggies. Very little meat can have some seafood. If you'd like a more detailed list we can try and upload it to this page. He's been playing his XBox a bit. Madden & Call of Duty - do you play too? Let the family know because I'm sure K would love to join you. Calls & texts are awesome, don't be upset if he doesn't respond right away. He loves to talk about all things NOT cancer. You know his favorites - sports & world affairs. <3 ............................................................................................................................ FOOD PREFERENCES Things the kids will actually eat: Chicken (any way) Chicken Nuggets Pizza Quesadillas Mac and Cheese Grilled Cheese Sandwiches Burgers Steak/Beef Meatless Pasta Salad Fruit Rice Sweets Sauteed Kale, Spinach, Green Beans Some Soups They will not eat any type of potatoes (I know, what kid doesn't love potatoes?!) Kenya and Stephanie: During treatment, Kenya can only have limited amounts of organic meat. Considering this, please make all of their meals vegetarian and they can add meat as needed/desired. Kenya is not a fan of Mexican food or a lot of cheese (but likes pizza). Other than that, they're open to anything delicious and healthy.
