Phan-Torres family Cancer Kindness Care

Anaheim, CA

Story

We get a lot of questions on how you’re able to help us. Kimmy was recommended to this page by her support group and wanted to see how this may work out for our family. Kimmy: 10 years ago, I fought Hodgkin’s lymphoma and lived an incredible life. Fast forward 10 years, About to go on a family trip for our anniversary and celebrating 10 years cancer free, we found out that a large tumor was in my pelvis and it was growing fast. This began the traumatic journey of managing aggressive Ewing Sarcoma. Never did we think we’d have to go through this again, let alone be given such a difficult hand with an even deadlier cancer. Being that this is my second time going through treatments, we have to be realistic about our time and family matters. We’ve had so much heartache and struggles adapting to our new normal and making decisions we never through we’d have to make. My mom guilt is so tremendous during this time. The monumental tasks of thinking about cooking meals, going to the grocery store, or pet care while we are out is a lot. Eric and I will TRY to do date nights when we can during my healthy days, and mini family getaways during my healthy weekends. Every day is truly unknown, but we try to roll with it. I love my boys more than anything in this universe. I plan to keep on fighting my hardest to be present and watch my baby grow up and to grow old with the love of my life. We thank you so much for your time, kindness and compassion for our family. We do not expect anything at all. Even just checking in through text is more than enough. We’ve been beyond blessed with an incredible village helping us get through this. we can keep you updated here but also you can follow my personal ig page @k.phantorres We are eternally grateful, Kimmy, Eric, & Nathan

Special Notes

The most help is needed for meals, groceries, pet care, and home management. Kimmy is unable to receive flowers and we are limiting in-home visitation at this time to keep her environment sanitary and free of contamination. For meals: we primarily eat as clean as possible; mostly vegetarian & pescatarian diet. Kimmy’s interests: spending quality time with family, roadtrips, reading 🤓, EATING. Nathan: crafts, organizing, reading, singing, dancing, playing instruments (is eager to learn drums 🫠), watching his favorite shows, cooking, following mommy and daddy around. Eric: taking care of his family, sports and new to gardening
