Story
In December, our beloved mother Madeline faced a severe health setback that led to an extended hospital stay. Now at home, she battles pneumonia, a tough addition to her already challenging health journey. Our stepfather Mike, who has been disabled for years, has been her rock, offering unwavering care and love despite his own health struggles. Together, they are a testament to resilience and love in the face of life's hardest tests. But even the strongest warriors need a legion behind them. This is where we come in - their family, friends, and kind-hearted supporters. Madeline and Mike need our help. With Madeline’s job loss last September and the ongoing health challenges, the physical, emotional, and financial toll on them has been immense. Our local family is doing everything possible to support them, but with work schedules, limited mobility, and the sheer magnitude of care needed, it’s a mountain too steep to climb alone. We are organizing a Meal Train to lighten their load by ensuring that Madeline and Mike have one less thing to worry about: nutritious, home-cooked meals or hot, delivered delicious meals. This small act of love and care can make a significant difference in their daily lives, offering not just sustenance but also a reminder that they are not alone in this fight. We invite you to join us in wrapping Madeline and Mike in a community quilt of compassion, one meal at a time. Whether it’s a lasagna that warms their bodies or a soup that soothes their souls, your contribution will be a beacon of hope in their time of need. Thank you for considering supporting Madeline and Mike. Your kindness during this challenging period is a light that truly makes a difference. How to Help: We've set up this Meal Train to organize the delivery of meals. Whether you’re able to prepare a meal, donate towards a meal delivery, or send a message of support, every act of kindness is a step towards healing. Together, let’s nourish not just their bodies but also their spirits, showing Madeline and Mike the power of community and love in action.
Special Notes
If you can't sign up for a meal on this site but want to help, text Laura at 239-250-2530. Thank you. Special Dietary Notes: Nothing too spicy. Madeline likes plain foods, and Mike lost his sense of smell (and therefore taste) a long time ago. Delivery Instructions: Please have meals delivered to 3111 Chestnut Hills Dr, #202, 49009. This is off Stadium Drive. Right now, their health means no visits. Meals should be delivered to their doorstep, and knock on the door or send them a text to let them know it is there. Mike will answer the door - but be patient. Sometimes he has a hard time getting around.
