Support for Bob, Coleen and Matthew Scharn

Haverhil, MA

Story

As many of you already know, the Scharn Family has been hit by Covid19 pretty hard.  Coleen, her husband Bob, son Matthew, her sister Karen, and her Mom are all dealing with or have dealt with this virus.  Bob was admitted to the hospital many weeks ago and is currently dealing with a plethora of medical issues. He is on a ventilator, is getting dialysis for his kidneys, has a drain for sepsis from his gallbladder, as well as several other issues with his heart and lungs. The Doctors and Nurses cannot get over how hard he is fighting and he is not giving up. He is in the fight of his life to get back to his family. We have to remain positive that he will recover from this and know that he will need extensive therapy after what is sure to be months in the ICU. Coleen and Matthew have been on an emotional roller coaster, day in and day out as phone calls come in from Doctors and Nurses. To say they are scared is an understatement.  We do want to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Lawrence General who have been with Bob, navigating his care plan, and somehow staying ahead of each medical crisis that comes their way with Bob's health. They have been amazingly supportive to the family as well. We need continued help for the family, in prayers especially, donations, and meals as well. Please consider helping if you can as no donation is to small and even making a small meal is so helpful as Coleen and Matthew still struggle each day with exhaustion, both physically and mentally. On this page you will find a few different options to help: First, we have made a meal train calendar if you would like to make a meal to drop off to them so they do not have to cook and we can still keep them fed and their strength up.    Second option, we have set up an Amazon Wish list for some everyday basic items they need, we will have Coleen update this list periodically with their needs.  Third option, straight donations.  Bob will have a very long recovery and we do not know if or when he will be able to get back to work.  To eliminate the future financial burden so the family can focus on Bob's recovery, donations are welcomed and appreciated. No amount is too small to give. Thank you so much for all of your support for this amazing family.

Special Notes

Coleen enjoys a variety of Chicken and salad dishes.  They also enjoy take out from The 99, Grassfields, or Texas Roadhouse.   As we all know Covid is very contagious and we ask that all guidelines be followed.  If you are dropping off food, please leave it outside on the porch area by the front door.  We also suggest that all food dropped off be placed in disposable containers, the less work they have to do the faster they will recover.
