Hello! I am due November 28th and currently only work 4 days a week/8 hours a day. On top of bills, rent, and basic needs, my maternity leave is looking a little scary in terms of money. My partner needs to pay for the car, we both need to deal with the rent and our phones, and with our combined income we will just be able to get by the first 6 weeks of my leave. However, any additional time I want to take will be unpaid, which will leave us struggling. While it isnt necessary for me to take the extra time off work, I think it is important. Its unfortunate that this country doesnt allow for mothers or fathers to take longer periods to bond and care for baby.... I am reaching out for support. It would mean the world to me to have more time to heal, and more time to bond with my daughter when she is finally here.
