Story

Breast cancer is not a diagnosis I expected, by any means - at least not now. A routine mammogram in October and they discovered a couple lumps, which through MRI was discovered to be a number of small tumors connected for 13 cm. Invasive Lobular Carcinoma is the type, stage 2a. We caught it early and while the treatment may be a bit grueling, I will come through this stronger on the other side. Chemo started December 13th and if all goes according to plan, I will finish May 21st.

Special Notes

I have some pretty crazy dietary restrictions. No dairy, no gluten, little corn, little white rice (brown rice, ok) no pineapple, no sulfur (in dried fruits). I'm also sensitive to maltodextrin. Greg is a meat and potatoes, chicken and rice, tacos kinda guy. (no food issues) The week following chemo, my tastebuds are blah - so I've been eating lots of veggie soup, potatoes, pears, applesauce, vanilla yogurt with granola and protein shakes. We've got UberEats and GrubHub gift cards on our wish list to make it easy - and I know some of you want/love to cook! While I love gifts, I am really enjoying things I can use - like yummy lotions and candles. I especially like fruity and floral scents. Also, home visits aren't really possible right now because we have an aggressive and protective dog.
