Coordinating Support for Caroline 🙋🏻‍♂️🙋🏽‍♀️

Oxford, AL

Story

As we all know, dear Caroline has been suffering with debilitating chronic back-pain and she needs our help. We’ve decided this online rota will be the best way to coordinate help and for Caroline to know availability of help over the next several weeks. Caroline says: “It would be most helpful to treat the rota as a chance for people to sign up for days when they have a bit of time (30-60 minutes) to help with practical details like running errands, grocery shopping, and food prep. I think this approach will provide flexibility as needs vary/arise and will help ease the potential burden of my strict anti-inflammatory diet. If people can sign-up for day(s) when they can give some time to help, I can be in direct contact with them in the days beforehand to coordinate specific timings (eg lunchtime or evening) and the type of practical help (eg running errands or food prep) as works for both of us. We can also connect then how the helper will get into the house for their visit, as I can't really manage the stairs. We have several solutions in place for this, but the answer will vary somewhat from visit to visit.” See the special notes below for full details of Caroline’s dietary restrictions.

Special Notes

As Caroline is on a strict anti-inflammatory diet, she's very limited in what she can eat. If you end up doing some food shopping for her, she'll provide a specific shopping list. If you end up helping with food prep, it will mostly be washing, chopping, boiling, or roasting, so minimal cooking skills are needed! Can't Eat: Refined sugar (including chocolate), Refined carbs (including bread), Gluten, Dairy, Processed meats (including ham, sausage, deli meats, etc.), Corn, Sunflower oil, A few other random items Can Eat: Vegetables (except corn), Fruit (including dried fruit), Nuts, Seeds, Legumes/Beans, Honey, Chicken, Pork (but not ham or sausage), Beef, Lamb, Salmon, Tuna
