Love for Mary, supporting the Potter’s

Simpsonville, SC

Story

Mary, aka Mom/Memaw/Granny/Aunt Mary, was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer in her lower right lung, and 2 cancer spots in her colon, one on each side back in February of this year and she underwent Chemo and Radiation treatment in March. Mary is excited to announce that her follow up scans on 7/2/19 showed the lung cancer responded to treatment and her prognosis looks very good!!  She still has to address the colon but Mary’s faith in God has been her inspiration and she will continue to trust God to lead, guide, and direct her steps which He has ordained.

Special Notes

Mary, Phil, and Susan have been limited to home for cautionary reasons. This will need to continue for the foreseeable future, but Mary is able to do more and will improve daily as she continues to heal. The family will have downtime everyday from 2-5 pm to provide them opportunities for rest and relaxation. Please, respect this time and avoid visiting, calling, texting, or FaceTiming. Meals should be planned for dinner for 3 people with enough leftovers that they could have for lunch another day.  Their diet needs to consist of fresh ingredients, no salt, homemade if possible, with lots of vegetables.  Visitors need to understand that they still need to wash/sanitize their hands, wear a mask if they have been around anyone sick, and avoid visiting if they feel at all sick. There are supplies of these items at the house for visitors to use.  If you would like to bring meals, the family would be very grateful. If you don’t cook but would like to help the family could always use Lysol spray, Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer and/or hand soap, or disposable ear-loop masks. More than anything else the family covets your prayers. Thank you to everyone who has helped during this very difficult time.
