Support for my son Tanner who is suffering from Schizophrenia

las vegas, NV

Story

Hello I am in need of support for myself and my son Tanner who was diagnosed with Schizophrenia two years ago. He suddenly had a psychotic break and our lives have been forever changed. We filed for disability and have been waiting for two years and we have been told that it may be another year before we receive it. We have sold everything of value in order to try and keep a roof over our head but we are out of resources and without some assistance we will be homeless very soon. I have been coping with his illness and the financial struggle alone and was able to get help from C.O.R.E thankfully who helped us giving us some much needed support. The people at C.O.R.E are absolutely incredible and without a doubt saved us from being without a place to live. I am so grateful for their help. Unfortunately we have not received his disability yet and so we are once again in danger of being homeless. I am so terrified and have no where left to turn. My son suffers everyday with his illness and he is a full time job for me in taking care of him and his needs. He suffers from voices in his head, delusions, confusion, involuntary muscle movements, anxiety, depression, manic states, and insomnia to name a few. He has also been on many different medications as we are working on finding the right medications for his symptoms. We have been working on this for over two years and are still working on this. We are in dire need and would appreciate any financial support so that we are able to keep our home and work on his care. Thank you for reading my story and if anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch with me. Sincerely, Michaela Christian
