THANK YOU for being ready to support the Aprans family during a challenging time. Starling's diagnosis with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis came, of course, as a total shock. Fortunately, Starling's parents and pediatrician responded quickly and linked Starling with some of the best care in the world for this condition at Boston Children's Hospital. Starling began treatment in Boston two weeks ago, and immediately responded well. Though he needed to remain at the hospital for a few days, they are all now back in their loving Lincolnville home. The treatment will continue for a while yet: in the short term, Starling will go to Portland every Monday for chemotherapy treatments. Within the next one to three months, the frequency of treatments will lessen, but they will continue for the rest of the year.
