Supporting the Hinshaws

Centerville, IN

Story

On Tuesday, February 26, 2109, the Hinshaw family scheduled a doctor’s visit for Mason, their 14-year old son, due to what appeared to be a wrist injury. Their lives changed in a moment when a blood test revealed something more sinister, and the appointment turned into a trip to Riley Children’s Hospital, where they received a diagnosis of B Cell Acute Lymphoblast Leukemia. We are pleased to say that this is a treatable cancer, but they are only just beginning what will be a 3-year treatment journey to Mason’s healing. “Supporting the Hinshaw’s” is our Give In Kind page to provide friends, family and colleagues an opportunity to support the Hinshaw family as they navigate through Mason’s journey to healing from B Cell Acute Lymphoblast Leukemia. Let’s rally around hem and show them how loved they are! Right now, we want to make sure they are well fed, home needs are met, prayed for, etc., and we will update this page as Mason continues his treatment journey and their needs change. We are firm believers in the power of prayer, so we welcome and ask for your support! Pray for Mason; for Mason’s healing, for his ability to continue to thrive as he takes treatment, for his continued success in schooling, and pray that he continues with a positive attitude while navigating the journey ahead. We ask for prayer for Jay, Chastity, and Maddy, as they are on this journey as well. Pray for their finances, physical, emotional, and mental health, and that they feel loved and supported in this endeavor. Please also pray for the doctors, nurses, technicians, hospital staff, and all the people that are serving and supporting the Hinshaw’s during Mason’s recovery. We thank you in advance for your prayers, love, and support.

Special Notes

Due to Mason’s compromised immune system, the Hinshaw’s will not be receiving visitors at their home. All scheduled help will be accompanied by instructions to make sure the house stays as germ free as possible. The Hinshaw’s have no known allergies, however, they prefer to eat a Whole Food lifestyle. i.e. Meat, Vegetables, Fruits, with limited processed foods.
