Lovin's For Libi

This page is designed as a hub for all things to best love and serve The Wisniewski family as they enter into a season of: time away from home, time away from their people, time with 100% sanitation mandates, and ultimately time in the unknown, or "the wilderness" as Matt so humbly put it in their latest Caring Bridge post. While Matt and Krissie ask for nothing more than your prayers over Libi's life and faith in the God who loves us- we friends have insisted on creating this space for us to support them from afar. In the coming days, weeks and months, we will make updates according to where the family resides (address for tangibles), their growing or changing needs, and some Libi updates along the way! If you are finding this page through someone else who loves Libi- here is a snippet from Matt's most recent Caring Bridge post regarding the "why": Libi's bone marrow is failing. The "factory" that produces her blood cells cannot keep up with production. Her counts are dangerously low. She is essentially just living off the platelet and neutrophil transfusion "boosts." Unfortunately, these are mere band-aid solutions. And so the time has finally come for a bone marrow transplant; we leave for Cincinnati today. Our mobilization to Cincinnati Children's Hospital (an international FA excellence center) will be for approx. 4 months. This is estimated to be 6 weeks inpatient, 10 weeks outpatient locally. Libi will receive chemotherapy for a week before Transplant Day (or "Day 0"). We're grateful for the medical progress seen in our FA community. In 1989, FA was considered primarily a pediatric disease. Most children did not survive complications of bone marrow failure. Today survival has increased from >15% to 85-90% and above. Praise God!
