Love for Natalie, Supporting the Scioles

Olathe, KS

Story

3 years ago after genetic testing we found out 1 out of 3 siblings have the CDH1 gene like our Dad. Unfortunately Natalie was the unlucky one. This news was devastating and scary! She has been surveillance by doing EGDs and mammograms over the years. However, this Spring her EGD results found precancerous signet ring cells in her stomach, which most likely over time will become cancer. CDH1 stomach cancer is usually caught at the later stage, because it is so hard to detect and most times it’s too late. The only option to ensure her survival is to have a total gastrectomy surgery, which is removing her entire stomach. This is not only a major surgery but a life changing one. Her daily eating will forever be changed and it will be hard for her to gain weight. The first weeks post surgery she will have a feeding tube while her stomach heals before she can slowly introduce foods back into her diet. Due to a longer recovery time, her Husband Dominic will be taking off 2 months of work during this time to take care of Natalie and the kids. Let’s rally around this family & show them support any way possible! Anything is greatly appreciated! Whether it’s dropping off a meal, sending snacks, sending a food delivery or sending a gift card. If you’re not able to help in this area; please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Spiritual warriors are needed at this time too! Please keep praying for Natalie’s healing, a speedy recovery with no complications, and for her family during this time. We are also taking up any offers to help with the kids or any other way possible if you have any ideas. Thank you for all the love and support!
