Hello! Our dear friend and colleague, Fred Lugo, suffered a serious injury that requires surgery. Because of the injury and surgery, Fred will be unable to walk unassisted and cannot drive for approximately 8-10 weeks. We are organizing this Meal Train to assist with helping Fred get his dinner every day without the stress of fending for himself. Of course, lunch is also an opportunity if anyone prefers to assist early in the day. Please note that I will be setting up another calendar to assist Fred with transportation, since during his recovery he will be unable to drive. It will be titled; Keep Fred Moving and will be a public facing calendar. If friends and loved ones prefer to help with the transportation needs. instead of meal provision. this is a great way to participate. Of Course! Anyone could sign up for both!!
Fred enjoys vegetarian dishes, as well as dishes made with proteins that include tofu, turkey, chicken, salmon and white fish. He does not eat red meat at all. ****Fred is allergic to shellfish of all types***** Some of his favorite restaurants include Poke Jo's (turkey), Love Thai, Chinatown, Hunan Lion, Casa Garcia's, Pinthouse Pizza, Mandola's and Olive Garden. If you prefer to drop off or send grocery items from HEB, Fred likes peaches, fresh fruit pints: (berries, pineapple, watermelon, kiwi, etc..), ground turkey, eggs, low-carb wheat tortillas, mini fresh veggie tray (carrots, celery, broccoli). Of course, you are welcome to check with Fred on what he feels like for the day.
