Love for the Vierbicher Family

Eau Claire, WI

Story

On Monday, May 5th, just days after celebrating his birthday, Charlie was treated for a heart attack that doctors believe happened on April 29th. He had four stents placed after they discovered a complete blockage in the main artery to his heart. He spent five days in the hospital while his care team worked to stabilize him and figure out the right medication. He was discharged and scheduled for a follow-up on May 14th.

He had been doing well at home—he even asked if he could mow the lawn. Stephanie did not allow this! In classic Charlie mode…maybe in opposite land!

Early Wednesday morning, Stephanie woke up to find Charlie in distress. He was rushed to Mayo Hospital, where he suffered another cardiac arrest. He is now under the care of an exceptional medical team, and we are so grateful for the attention and expertise they are providing.

We will continue to post updates here as we learn more. Thank you all for surrounding Charlie and our family with so much love, hope, and prayers. We are remaining hopeful and believe Charlie still has more life to live. Your love continues to lift us up during this time.
