Hi, I’m Mesha, and I’m looking for support, prayers, and raising funds for my best friend Maggie and her husband, Charlie. When I asked Maggie what would make this time easier, she shared that accepting help is hard, but the need is real. Charlie was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that has spread. Doctors have told them in his condition the average life expectancy is one year. They are not giving up hope and are starting a clinical trial at MD Anderson in Houston. Through it all, their faith remains strong. In addition to this major life event, Maggie was part of the recent Federal job cuts after serving for 15 years and has found herself unemployed. Charlie served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and now leads a homeless shelter in New Braunfels, TX, always putting others first. Together they have three amazing sons who are working and in college, two wonderful daughters-in-law, and two precious grandchildren, with one more on the way. This is a family that has poured into others through their church, community, and service for decades. They walked beside me during one of my hardest seasons, spiritually, financially, and as a friend. I know they have done the same for so many others. Now, they need our help. Your support through prayer, donations, and acts of service will help with: - Medical and travel expenses - Living costs during treatment - Comfort items Charlie may need (e.g., Zero Gravity Chair) - Support for Maggie as she cares for Charlie Not everyone is able to give financially; acts of service are just as meaningful. If you feel led to help with meals, home projects, errands, cleaning, or preparing their home so they can rent it to help out financially during this time, please take a look at the "Care Calendar" and the "Special Notes" on this page and sign up where you can. Every prayer, donation, meal, visit, service act, and share means the world. Please help this amazing family focus on what truly matters, faith, love, and time together. 🙏 Thank you and God bless you. If you feel moved to help Maggie and Charlie financially, there is a Venmo listed on this page or you can give through GoFundMe at: https://gofund.me/1a3b17352
