Flood and mold… no fridge, oven, kitchen access

Wappingers Falls, NY

Story

On sunday, June 1, a pipe that run under our entire building of townhouses (approximately 7 units) clogged causes sewage water to come up through our downstairs bathroom toilet. Once they snaked the clog, about 40 gallons of sewage water flooded our downstairs. We have been without a down stairs ever since and were supposed to avoid the kitchen as much as possible. (It was sealed off with a zipper). We would enter the kitchen twice a day: in the am to check to see if cats got in and to grab water bottles and again in the pm to try to eat very quickly. Destruction of our home began and they had to immediately stop once they found a bunch of mold. It took 22 days for a mold assessor to come in and say, “yeah, it’s mold.” In day 24 they came in and obliterated our downstairs, completely sealing off our cabinets, fridge, and oven/stove. We were told to not go in the kitchen or downstairs (now empty with no walls) bathroom. We have no updates when they will start to rebuild nor will they displace us. Declan hasn’t been home in 24 days and counting…
