With full hearts and in the spirit of Christ’s love, we invite you to join us in surrounding this faithful, God-fearing family with your prayers, encouragement, and unwavering support as they walk through this sacred season of healing and restoration. On December 19th, 2024, Greg received the long-awaited confirmation that he had been approved for a heart transplant — a moment that clearly reflected God’s favor and divine timing. And in a beautiful, awe-inspiring testimony to God's faithfulness, exactly six months later to the day, on June 19th, 2025, Greg received the miraculous gift of a new heart. After nearly a decade of hoping, enduring, and believing, God fulfilled His promise in Greg’s life. Through every trial and triumph, his beloved wife, Datrice, stood faithfully by his side — their story a powerful reflection of Hebrews 11:1: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Now, as Greg embarks on the journey of recovery, we are called to lift up this beautiful family — Greg, Datrice, and their sons — and remind them that they are deeply loved, seen, and supported. This is our opportunity to live out Romans 12:10: “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” Let us come together to ensure their home is filled with nourishing meals, daily essentials, and peace of mind during these next few months. As they focus on healing, we can ease their burdens, just as Galatians 6:2 encourages us: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” We trust fully in the promise of Philippians 4:19: “And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” We will continue to update this page as their needs change. Thank you for being a part of their testimony, and for walking beside them in love, faith, and prayer.
While the family is deeply grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support ❤️, Greg’s journey toward healing is just beginning and will require great care and caution. The road ahead includes a highly controlled and sterile environment, limited physical contact, and a rigorous schedule of physical, respiratory, and occupational therapies. Out of an abundance of love and precaution, home visits will be limited in the initial weeks. The family will provide weekly updates regarding in-person visits. In the meantime, virtual visits will be warmly welcomed, and a Zoom and Google link will be shared for loved ones to connect and uplift Greg’s spirits from afar.
