Hey everybody! February 24 was the day everything changed and this families worlds were flipped upside down! Shyla’s mother took her that Saturday morning for a second time to Kettering emergency room due to severe pain in her knee that she had been complaining about roughly for a month. Almost two weeks before this they went into the emergency room and was turned away without tests ran or blood drawn and was told it was “growing pains” and “tendinitis.” Fast forward two weeks later and they received the worst news of their lives! Leukemia was found in shyla’s blood work! She was immediately taken to Dayton children’s hospital where she stayed 10 days while the doctors came up with a treatment plan for this nasty disease. Her mother (Deidra) and step father (Tracy) has been by her side since day one as well as all her immediate family and it’s been one thing after another for her which is why I’m making this gofundme to try and help assist with some of the new obstacles they are going through. Us as a community need to come together and help this family in a time of need! Shyla has had 3 rounds of chemo so far and it’s only the beginning of multiple hospital stays, driving back & forth to doctors offices, making sure shyla’s health is the best it can be with these circumstances all while everyday bills are still pilling up. Deidra is a business owner of her own cleaning company and has been very successful and wants to keep it that way so we need to help her be able to do this as easily as possible. Deidra, Tracy and her immediate family is very thankful for all the prayers and positive vibes from you all! People have been asking how they can help or if they could donate so this link will give multiple options for those that would like to help out! Any amount will help tremendously and go to making this transition easier for shyla and her family at this time.
While she’s going through chemo it is very important that no one bring her any balloons or flowers!
