Love for Baker and support for Lydia, Carter and Cameron Engel

Justin, TX

Story

Baker Josiah Stephen Engel was born on January 19 at 32 weeks and 4 days. Just a few days later, he underwent major surgery to close up a rupture in his bladder. So many people have followed Baker’s story from a terminal diagnosis to a miraculous birth and have stood witness to The Lord’s hand on Baker’s life. Lydia and Carter and the rest of their family are so grateful for the outpouring of fervent prayer. There is not a single system in Baker’s body that has not been divinely touched by His Maker and we can’t wait to share more of the details of Baker’s story in the coming weeks and months. We have been asked by so many how to help support Lydia and Carter during this time. First of all, your prayers have carried and continue to carry them. We can’t thank you enough. The Engel’s and family have experienced The Church like never before in this season through loving messages, reminders of truth, prophetic words, and constant prayer. If you feel the urge to help in a physical way, there are a couple practical ways to help. Right now Lydia and Carter travel from Justin to Cook Children’s hospital daily to be with Baker. Until Baker comes home, the easiest way to support them is through gift cards and freezable meals. Gift cards could be used to pay for meals while at the hospital, gas and tolls for all the travel, and so that they can focus on the boys. Frozen quick breakfast foods for the morning rush to the hospital and easy healthy dinners would be a huge blessing. Mainly, please keep praying with us for this precious family. Here are some specific prayer requests: 1. Baker would keep getting bigger and stronger everyday- no setbacks in getting him home! 2. Baker would continue to tolerate his respiratory support, his feeds, medication weans and whatever else his care requires 3. For total resolution of the blood clot in his heart 4. For Lydia’s heart and mind as she prepares to go back to work before Baker comes home 5. Overall for the Lord’s radical provision and sustenance- mentally, physically, emotionally, financially “Joy is my warfare” has been the battle cry this season. Even in the darkest hours, Lydia and Carter have moved through it all with grace, kindness, and supernatural joy. Nehemiah 8:10 “The joy of the Lord is your strength” Thank you for being on this journey with them and their Miracle Boy, Baker!
