Support Tara’s Healing After Her Life-Saving Kidney Donation

Acworth, GA

Story

On November 11, 2025, Tara underwent major surgery to donate one of her kidneys to her sister; a gift that quite literally saved her sister’s life. Tara’s sister was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) back in 1990. For many years, the disease progressed slowly, allowing her to live a fairly normal life. But recently everything changed. Her kidney function dropped to Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease, meaning dialysis or a transplant was no longer a distant possibility...it was an urgent need. Finding a donor was going to be extremely difficult. Because of her medical numbers and antibody levels, she fell into one of the lowest categories for finding a match. The doctors warned it could take years. But Tara stepped forward. She went through a long and emotional testing process...a roller coaster of hope, setbacks, and waiting. And then the news came: her kidney was a PERFECT match. Almost as if the two sisters were twins. A miracle created decades ago and revealed at exactly the right time. On November 11, the transplant was performed successfully. Tara gave her sister the chance at more years...more time with family, more life to live. Now Tara is home recovering from major abdominal surgery. As strong and resilient as she is, she will need several weeks to heal fully. This page has been created so friends and family who want to support her can do so in meaningful ways...with meals, help covering time away from work, or financial support during her recovery. Your generosity will ease the load, allow her to rest, and remind her of how loved she is. Thank you for rallying around Tara during this incredible act of sisterly love and sacrifice. Please continue to keep both sisters in your prayers as they heal.
