Rachel is currently on medical leave focusing on treatment and recovery from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS), and immune-related conditions. Managing these chronic illnesses comes with daily challenges and ongoing treatment needs. She’s sharing her journey to raise awareness about the realities of living with complex chronic illness and to help others feel less alone in theirs. Many friends and followers have asked how they can help — this page offers a way to provide practical support, such as meal or grocery gift cards, or simply words of encouragement. Recent diagnoses include Specific Antibody Deficiency (SAD), a form of primary immunodeficiency, and Mast Cell Activation, which add to the complexity of managing inflammation and recovery. Rachel will soon begin subcutaneous IVIG infusions and undergo several upcoming procedures for TOS, joint instability, and nerve compression. Your care, kindness, and encouragement mean more than words. Thank you for walking beside her on this healing journey. 💙
Rachel’s immune system is compromised due to primary immunodeficiency and ongoing IVIG therapy. Please avoid shellfish, spicy or high-histamine foods, and fragrances (due to Mast Cell Activation). Favorite meals include veggie or chicken-flavored ramen, or soup, salads, gluten-free pasta, rice or noodle stir-fry with teriyaki sauce, and simple comfort foods like baked potatoes or roasted veggies. Dairy in moderation is best, and salty, electrolyte-rich meals (soups, broths, or salted snacks) are especially helpful for managing POTS. Your kindness and care—through meals, messages, or small acts—mean so much. 💛
