Amazing Amy Crushes Cancer

Oro Valley, AZ

W
Story

Hey Everyone - It's Brian. I started this for a few reasons. ✅ a single place for you to get updates and be in the loop on what's going on ✅ help me be able to be present for Amy vs fielding non-stop messages and texts ✅ give a resource for those asking how they can help So WFT happened? Amy went into the hospital on Saturday October 7th because of bad "cramping" like pain. quick and dirty ultrasound showed a large mass...."there is something big in there, it's coming out today and you're not leaving the hospital" Day 1 was just waiting to be transferred to a surgical hospital which is great for her in hospital care but sucks for us because it's 20 miles away from where we live across the middle of town. We got her transferred and they ran about every test and image under the sun They don't know what it is (later we find out they do, but wisely wait until it's out a they can give us full scope) but they are going to go in the look, do a biopsy and next steps. 3 hours of surgery later the surgeon comes in to give the the bad news A massive, aggressive cancer that has spread from the colon to the left ovary to the uterus to the right ovary; just making a path of destruction across her body. They removed her omentium (a fatty layer that cancer likes to fester in), her uterus and ovaries, and part of her colon. She's in the hospital recovering waiting to come home. ❓How can you help? Amy wants me to be at her side. We have a dog that needs walking twice a day and a 7-year-old Autistic son who needs looking after/entertainment so I can focus on helping mom. The challenge is that he does NOT do well with change :( I've had a few people ask about food and I'm sure you can guess it's the last thing I'm spending my day doing. Mavic loves 2 main things; Chicken tenders from Dave's Hot Chicken (far from us), Raising Canes, or Chick Fillet. And Domino's pizza- original hand-tossed crust with Sasauge, Peperoni, &/or Olives
