Please Help Support Lexi and Her Family On Friday, September 18th, Lexi Kehl left work on her motorcycle, heading to the gym. Moments later, her life—and the lives of her family—changed forever when she was struck by a car. Lexi was rushed to the hospital with catastrophic injuries, including a severe spinal cord injury, a crushed leg, numerous fractures throughout her body, head trauma despite wearing a helmet, and collapsed lungs. She has already endured a grueling 13-hour surgery and will require additional surgeries in the days and weeks ahead. Lexi is currently fighting for her life in the ICU. She remains in a medically induced coma and is relying on a ventilator to breathe. During this incredibly difficult time, Lexi’s mother, Angela Kehl, has remained by her daughter’s side. Angela is a widow and is also raising Lexi’s three sisters—Natalie, and twins Jenna and Lanie, who are all facing their senior year of high school. With Angela unable to work while caring for Lexi, the family is facing an overwhelming amount of uncertainty and stress. Lexi’s road to recovery will be long. Once she is medically stable, she is expected to require intensive inpatient rehabilitation at a facility specializing in spinal cord injuries. Eventually, significant modifications to the family’s home will also be necessary to accommodate her needs and allow her to return home.
