Brittney has been a special blessing to the family. A single mother of four who battled cancer in her early twenties and won that battle having to have a kidney removed. About two and a half years ago the dreaded disease returned this time with a tumor on her spleen and one on her stomach. Through Chemo and radiation treatments the staff at Siteman Cancer Center were able to shrink a remove the tumor on the spleen with success but have only been able to stop the tumor on the stomach from spreading and growing. Brittney is scheduled to have surgery this Friday on November 14th with the goal of completely removing all or most of the tumor and if any remain to treat with radiation at a future date. With ageing parents, we will do the best we can to give our all to support Brittney and the children but we know we can't carry the load totally. Why Bri the Giver? For countless years Brittney has been there to support others. She currently is volunteering with at risk youth bringing them into the work world and training them in job retention. As a manager at her employment, she is loved by many of her staff. As Brittney has been there for others, we ask you at this time to please be here for her at this time of need. She will be totally incapacitated for two weeks and will be recovering for four week. Thank you so much family, friends and neighbors.
The children like kids' food Brittney will need natural sugarless smoothies, protein drinks etc.
