My mom’s story began in October of 2025, after several doctor visits where she was treated for what was believed to be a respiratory infection. Despite multiple rounds of antibiotics, her condition continued to worsen. Eventually, she was struggling just to breathe and went to Bleckley Memorial Hospital, where doctors quickly discovered something much more serious—a large mass that was nearly completely blocking her right pulmonary artery. She was immediately transferred to Augusta for specialized care. After further evaluation, she faced an incredibly difficult journey that led to the removal of her entire right lung. It was a major, life-altering surgery, and there were many hurdles along the way. Through it all, my mom has shown so much strength. After everything she has endured, her greatest wish was simply to be home—and now she is. She is currently on hospice care, surrounded by family, love, and comfort, and we are by her side every day supporting her in every way we can. If you feel led to help, we would be deeply grateful.
