Help Barb Get Charlie Exercised!

Pittsbugh, PA

W
Story

Hi, all! Early in April, I took a tumble and fractured my knee into a few pieces. I had surgery last week, and am in an immobilizing brace, non-weight bearing for at least eight weeks. Once I have the ok, I will be allowed to put weight on my leg but will remain in the brace for at least two more months. Charlie is my beautiful, goofy Lab/Dane mix pup, a solid 90 pounds (so, not even remotely small.) He’s friendly with almost everyone having grown up in my store, but he can be reactive to dogs (if he’s not rolling in the grass.) Charlie will need a good 30-minute walk at least once a day (especially as that’s when he likes to take of “matters.”) I wanted to hire a dog-walker but frankly, with the store closed, my income is pretty much nonexistent. If you know me, you know I don’t like asking for help but the situation with Charlie has me frazzled. So I’m asking: If you can offer an hour of your day once a week, or you can help pay for a dog-walker, I would be truly grateful. Charlie is strong, and needs an experienced dog owner, so please only volunteer if you are comfortable with big dogs. My daughter has helped quite a bit, but she works, too, and living in a small, pet-free apartment can only commit so much before anxiety sets in. Please call or email me with any questions. Thank you from the bottom of my and Charlie’s heart!
