Norma was officially diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer in June 2026. Her cancer was found during a surgery for another health issue she had a few months ago. She has gone through the ups and downs of trying to find out where her cancer originated and how soon she could begin treatment. Norma is currently on the mFOLFIRINOX chemotherapy regimen. It is currently the most aggressive treatment they have to treat pancreatic cancer. Based on her younger age and overall great health, her care team believes she will be able to withstand this aggressive treatment. Norma had her first chemo treatment on June 22. Her side effects are starting to affect her. Her family members are continuing to pray and hold onto the hope with Norma. However, some days it can feel a bit challenging when the anxiety creeps in. Regardless of the situation, Norma is ready to not only fight her cancer, but to also beat it and show it who's boss. We truly appreciate everyone for their love, support, and continuous prayers!
Due to her chemotherapy regimen and side effects, she is unable to consume anything cold or raw. Any visitors are asked to wear a mask to protect her from illness due to her low immune system. If you are feeling ill, please refrain from visiting and instead send a text or call. Everything is appreciated! We are hoping to ease the burdens for Norma and always make sure she has something to eat, do, or even someone to keep her company when we are unavailable.
