Sarah’s Post Mastectomy Recovery

Houston, TX

W
Story

As many of you may know, last year I learned that I carry the BRCA2 gene mutation - meaning I'm at a high risk of developing breast cancer. As a preventative measure I'll be undergoing a double mastectomy with reconstruction. During recovery, I will have significant restrictions and won’t be able to lift much, cook meals, or move around easily for a while. Several people have asked how they can help, and honestly, support in the form of meals, restaurant gift cards, grocery delivery, or any financial assistance toward recovery expenses would mean so much during this time. Having help with meals especially would take a huge weight off while I focus on healing. If you’d like to support me in any way, please know how deeply appreciated it is — whether it’s a meal, a gift card, a donation, a check-in text, or simply sharing this post. Thank you all for the love, prayers, and support as I navigate this recovery journey. ❤️

Special Notes

Visitors are welcome post op. Just check in with my care takers (Shay and my mother) before dropping by. I will be drugged up so that could make the conversation more interesting or very awkward!
